Welcome to Our Program

Meet the First Cohort of the Tokyo Silicon Valley Medtech Launchpad

We are delighted to welcome the first 10 companies to the Tokyo Silicon Valley Medtech Launchpad, a program supporting Japanese medical technology innovators as they prepare to enter and grow in the United States.

This cohort reflects the breadth of Japan’s medtech ecosystem. Its companies are working across women’s health, oncology, neurorehabilitation, medical imaging, digital health, cardiovascular surgery, and surgical robotics. What unites them is a shared ambition: to turn strong science and engineering into solutions that can make a meaningful difference for patients and healthcare professionals.

CraneBio

CraneBio is bringing DNA origami into point-of-care diagnostics. Its lead application is an at-home HPV screening test designed to make cervical cancer screening more accessible to women who face geographic, financial, or practical barriers to conventional testing.

LPIXEL

LPIXEL develops artificial intelligence for medical imaging. Its EIRL platform supports the analysis of brain, chest, and gastrointestinal images and is designed to integrate into existing clinical imaging workflows, helping clinicians identify findings more efficiently and consistently.

LifeScapes

LifeScapes is developing a non-invasive, closed-loop brain-computer interface for people with severe hand paralysis following stroke or spinal cord injury. By combining brain-signal detection, AI, robotic assistance, and functional electrical stimulation, the company aims to support lasting neurorehabilitation rather than movement assistance alone.

Ayumo

Ayumo is developing AI-powered gait analysis to help clinicians identify and assess walking disorders. Using video captured on a standard tablet, its technology is intended to make specialist-level insights more accessible in primary care and general orthopedic settings, beginning with cervical myelopathy.

Aortic Technologies

Aortic Technologies is addressing a critical step in open aortic surgery. The pre-formation venture is developing an automated device for everted aortic anastomosis, with the goal of helping surgical teams complete this demanding procedure more quickly and consistently.

FerroptoCure

FerroptoCure is advancing a new approach to cancer treatment based on ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death driven by iron-dependent oxidative stress. Its oral small-molecule program is designed to disrupt the antioxidant defenses that cancer cells use to survive.

Hoshino Labs

Hoshino Labs is pursuing a new therapeutic and diagnostic approach to preeclampsia. Its work focuses on filtering disease-associated exosomes from maternal blood and identifying biomarkers that may help predict the condition before symptoms appear.

Provigate

Provigate is developing a diabetes management service built around once-weekly glycated albumin monitoring. By combining more frequent feedback with a digital behavior-change application and human coaching, the company aims to help people with type 2 diabetes understand and act on changes in their health sooner.

RIVERFIELD

RIVERFIELD develops surgical support robots using pneumatic technology. Its approach is designed to preserve valuable tactile feedback for surgeons while supporting flexible integration into hospital environments and surgical workflows.

Ruten

Ruten is building brain-machine interface middleware that translates cortical signals into stimulation commands. Its first clinical application, the Swallow Autopilot, is being developed to help restore swallowing function for people living with chronic dysphagia caused by neurological and related conditions.

Building a bridge from Japan to the United States

Over the course of the program, these companies will engage with US clinicians, industry leaders, investors, and market experts. They will test assumptions, refine their value propositions, and build practical strategies for regulatory, clinical, and commercial entry.

We are excited to support their progress and to introduce their work to partners across the US healthcare ecosystem. Please join us in welcoming CraneBio, LPIXEL, LifeScapes, Ayumo, Aortic Technologies, FerroptoCure, Hoshino Labs, Provigate, RIVERFIELD, and Ruten to the program.
