Meet Cohort 2 of the Tokyo Silicon Valley Medtech Launchpad

We are proud to welcome 10 more Japanese innovators to the Tokyo Silicon Valley Medtech Launchpad. Together, the companies in cohort 2 expand the program’s portfolio into brain-computer interfaces, interventional radiology, reproductive medicine, digital pathology, medical data, wound care, gastroenterology, and cardiovascular monitoring.

Some are established companies preparing for international growth. Others are emerging ventures translating years of clinical and academic research into their first products. Each joins the program with a clear purpose: to understand the US healthcare environment and shape a market-entry strategy grounded in real clinical and commercial needs.

JiMED

JiMED is developing a fully implantable, wireless brain-computer interface for people in locked-in or near locked-in states caused by ALS, cervical spinal cord injury, and related conditions. Its surface-based electrocorticography system is designed to capture motor-cortex signals and translate them into commands for external devices.

SniperPath

SniperPath is developing a lightweight navigation system for CT-guided needle procedures. By giving physicians a physical reference for complex out-of-plane trajectories, the company aims to improve accuracy while preserving physician control and fitting naturally into interventional radiology workflows.

Splink

Splink is building a continuum of brain-health solutions spanning preventive cognitive assessment and clinical-grade neuroimaging analysis. Its technologies are designed to support earlier identification and monitoring of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease across both consumer and clinical settings.

Rock & Lotus / IRIS

Rock & Lotus is developing IRIS, an intelligent robotic injection system for precision CT-guided intratumoral therapy. The system is intended to standardize complex injection procedures, reduce operator variability, and help advanced cancer treatments reach more patients and clinical sites.

ARCS

ARCS is developing AI-assisted sperm evaluation and selection for intracytoplasmic sperm injection procedures. Its system is designed to attach to existing IVF laboratory microscopes, analyze sperm characteristics in real time, and help embryologists identify strong candidates while retaining final clinical control.

Milk

Milk is applying hyperspectral imaging and artificial intelligence to digital pathology. By capturing far more spectral information than a conventional camera, its technology is designed to help detect subtle differences between cancerous and non-cancerous tissue and support more objective pathological assessment.

Sachilles

Sachilles is developing a foot-specific treatment system for infected diabetic foot ulcers. Its integrated approach combines negative-pressure wound therapy, off-loading and protection, and rapid disinfection technology to address the complex clinical needs that can lead to severe complications and amputation.

AIBTrust

AIBTrust is building a patient-centered medical data platform based on dynamic consent. By enabling individuals to control how their health information is shared, the company aims to connect patients, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, and researchers while supporting responsible data use.

GEStiC

GEStiC is developing an electrically stimulated intestinal decompression catheter for small bowel obstruction. The device is designed to use controlled stimulation to help advance the catheter closer to the obstruction, potentially improving decompression when conventional approaches are insufficient.

CardioSpire

CardioSpire is developing a non-invasive system for continuous hemodynamic monitoring. By extracting cardiovascular signals from a patient’s breathing, the company aims to provide clinically useful measures of cardiac function without catheters, implanted sensors, or adhesive patches.

Building a bridge from Japan to the United States

Through the program, these companies will work with experts across the US healthcare ecosystem to clarify clinical use cases, validate product-market fit, understand regulatory and reimbursement pathways, and build relationships that can support long-term growth.
